Maple Ridge Eye Care continues to donate to local charitable causes. We were pleased to donate $1,500 to Camp Goodtimes this past summer. This is a camp hosted by the Canadian Cancer Society for kids, teenagers and families living with cancer. Camp Goodtimes, which is located at Loon Lake in the UBC Research Forest, is a place where these special kids can be themselves in a safe, fun environment.

For 2011 we continued with our ongoing support of the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation. We were proud to attend the most recent Hospital Foundation Gala this October, where our clinic donated a $200. gift cartificate towards a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses for the Silent Auction. We donated an additional $1,700. towards the Foundations' goal for this year through the purchase of auction items and a cash donation. Thanks to all of the hard working volunteers who make this event the resounding success that it is - over $200,000 was raised this year.

Our clinic is also proud to support World Sight Day by making a donation to help provide eye exams and glasses to people in need in developing countries who don't have access to basic vision care. Our $500. donation was made to Optometry Giving Sight, a global fundraising initiative that targets the prevention of blindness and impaired vision.
